Saturday 17th AUGUST 2025

10am to 1.30pm

Eat & Grow Vegetable Workshop

This is a great opportunity to have a foodie day out with family or friends or come along on your own to learn all about vegetables, how to grow, pick, store and cook with them.  In this class we make a delicious short crust pastry pie filled with delicious home grown veg and learn all about how to propagate and grow a variety of vegetables to suit your garden.

Sian from Wild Fuschia Bakehouse teams up with Joanne from Ourganic Gardens to deliver a wonderful class packed full of amazing flavours and information all about vegetables.

Sian from Wild Fuschia Bakehouse will show participants how to make short crust pastry and delicious savoury tarts using fresh vegetables from Joanne's organic garden.  Everyone will get to make their own individual savoury tart with the vegetables of their choice. While the pies are baking Sian will demonstrate how to make a pickle and chutney using seasonal vegetables which will add flavour and variety to meals throughout the year.

We take a coffee break with some lovely home baked treats and then Joanne will showcase seasonal produce from her garden and give an insight into the growing condition required, how to manage the ever changing climate and will cover the organic principles of growing your own vegetables.

The session finishes with a delicious lunch featuring home grown organic vegetables from Joanne's garden and some of Sian's freshly baked bread.

This workshop is packed full of information about cooking and growing and both Joanne and Sian are available to answer questions and supply information about utilising and growing vegetables.  There will be refreshments and lunch and a goodie bag worth €15 and everyone gets to take home their own savoury tart.

All equipment and ingredients are supplied including aprons and recipes.  All participants are asked to wear sensible footwear. Refreshments, lunch and a goodie bag worth €15 is included in the price of €85.

Winter Weekend Guided Buddhist Meditation Retreat

Healing Anxiety through the Wisdom of Impermanence.

14-16 November, 2025

This retreat explores Buddhist meditations aligned with the winter season — a time to reflect on impermanence, mortality, and the deeper aspects of ourselves. Through guided sessions, we’ll face these truths with openness, using them as gateways to a more meaningful and liberating life.

Led by Gen Chitta (Kadampa Meditation Centre, Belfast) and Ian McGlade (Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Derry~Londonderry), the weekend includes guided breathing meditations, short Buddhist prayers, talks, and practice. Accessible to all, no experience is necessary.

This is an independent retreat run by the organisers listed above and is not a Corcreggan Mill event.

You can find more information at MeditateNI and you can book you place here.
