Description:

Corcreggan Mill Hostel is set in a natural hollow near the sea and in sight of Tory Island. It is 3km SW of Dunfanaghy village on the N56 by the shore of New Lake. The whole property occupies what was once an important pre-Celtic site and has 175 recorded archaeological sites within 8km. The hostel is renowned for its tranquillity, warm hospitality and comfort.

The Railway Station was created in 1996 using recycled materials to house a 120 year old mahogany railway carriage which has been totally rebuilt to provide five unique bedrooms. To the rear is a very warm and comfortable sitting room with open turf fire, a dining room and a kitchen decorated and equipped in a traditional style, all with central heating. It also has three showers and a utility room.

The Kiln House, which was once used for drying corn, has been renovated in a tasteful rustic style and has one dormitory and two double-bed sleeping lofts upstairs.

This hostel is a profitable business and has earned accolades from many of the top guide books including: Guide du Routard, Let's go, Fodor's Up Close, and Rough Guide.

The Kiln House is an original stone structure that is self-contained (including OFCH) and has dormitory and private loft accommodation for 12 people (8 singles and 2 doubles).

The Station House

The reconstructed railway station has 5 bedrooms (12 singles and 2 doubles) accommodating 16 people in an one hundred and twenty year-old mahogany railway carriage. There are separate living room, dining room, kitchen and shower rooms at the rear. There is an open turf and log fire and OFCH.

Accommodation:

There are 5 compartments in the railway carriage, two double bedded rooms and three four bedded private rooms. Each room has a wash hand basin and central heating.
At the end of the railway platform there are two toilets.

Kitchen:

The Kitchen is fully fitted with fridges, sinks and a gas cooker. The worktop is 2.5" thick made from recycled railway sleepers.

 
Living room:

The living room has a pine floor and open colonial style stove. A stone wall with a stained glass window divides the dining room and kitchen.
