The whole property occupies what was once an important pre-Celtic site and has 175 recorded archaeological sites within 8km. The hostel is renowned for its tranquillity, warm hospitality and comfort.
The Railway Station was created in 1996 using recycled materials to house a 120 year old mahogany railway carriage which has been totally rebuilt to provide five unique bedrooms. To the rear is a very warm and comfortable sitting room with open turf fire, a dining room and a kitchen decorated and equipped in a traditional style, all with central heating. It also has three showers and a utility room.
The Kiln House, which was once used for drying corn, has been renovated in a tasteful rustic style and has one dormitory and two double-bed sleeping lofts upstairs. |
