Just like home
The popularity of the Mill House as good value tourist accommodation has increased significantly over the last few years, making booking imperative now.
In 2013 we won Trip Advisor's, Traveller's Choice, Bargain Destinations in Ireland Award, having been selected as number 2 in their top 25, of 3000 Hotels! We continue to attract their annual Certificate of Excellence Award. Since we fit the stringent ethos for hospitality and facilities we have recently been awarded Failte Ireland's Welcome Standard badge of approval for 2016.
The Mill House has also gained great popularity as a private retreat and a venue for a wide variety of workshop interests, especially during the quieter, off-season period in this ordinarily busy, summer tourism area.
The 18th century Mill House was totally rebuilt in 2000 from its three remaining walls and fitted out with authentic, antique, flooring, radiators, furniture, artwork and memorabilia ... to achieve the "quirky" old-world charm which our guests enjoy so much.
Our in-house accommodation has ensuite double, twin and family rooms and slightly cheaper options with shared bathrooms, as well as two very popular, self-contained, family apartments. An extensive, continental buffet breakfast is included but a traditional Irish Stew is available if booked two hours in advance ... and we also have an unusual, military-themed, Wine Bar for evening relaxation and discussions and sometimes story reading by your host ... as well as a quiet, 'Ulster' room for reflection and reading.
At the Mill House we provide:
Comfortable ensuites (some shared-bathroom) and two apartments
Extensive buffet, Continental breakfast included
Irish Stew available if booked two hours in advance
Free resident car parking
Complimentary WiFi access (signal sometimes limited due to rural location)
Child friendly environment (especially for Faery lovers)
WW2-themed Wine Ba
Breath-taking lake, sea and landscape views from the property
Peace and tranquillity a priority
Relaxing, fun stay!
